HISD Counselors will be hosting a "Parent Preview Night" where parents of students grades K-12th will be able to preview the curriculum we will be using to cover state mandated topics. Some of these topics require parental consent in order for a student to receive that instruction. Those consent forms will be sent to you by your campus counselor. This is an opportunity for you to come view the curriculum in person and ask questions. All three campus counselors will be present along with our District Counselor. You may also preview the curriculum at home by going to this section of HISD website https://www.henrietta-isd.net/page/curriculum-instruction and clicking on "State Mandated Topics and Preview Links". Some of those links do not show the full curriculum due to copyright laws. To view the full curriculum, you will need to do that in person. September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month and we are excited to promote "Go Gold For Childhood Cancer Awareness Month"! HISD students and staff are encouraged to wear gold on Wednesday, September 25th in honor of all area children who have been affected by Childhood Cancer. Henrietta ISD Swim teams 2nd year and TWO swimmers!! Ella placed 1st in the 50 free with a time of 27.49 seconds and Zoie placed 16th with a time of 39.83 seconds. Zoie placed 4th with a time of 49.31 seconds in the 50 Breast. Ella placed 2nd in the 100 Free with a time of 1:01.60.

Clay County EMS came for a career visit to Mrs. Deaton’s career prep class. We really appreciate them taking time to invest in our youth and provide career opportunity classes locally. For all interested there will be a new class starting in January.

Your Lady Cat and Bearcat Cross Country Teams competed at the Dragon Lake Run yesterday and conquered greatness!! Lady Cats were the CHAMPIONS of yesterdays meet! Kate Farnsworth placed 3rd Ruby Truette placed 5th Natalie Romines placed 6th Laney Johnson 7th Brynna Johnson 12th Madeline Logan, Sophie Chitwood and Carlie Mayfield also contributed to help their team earn CHAMPIONS TITLE! There were 68 total girls running Bearcats earned 3rd place overall Kayden Shaw placed 5th Hayden Middlesworth 18th Max Smith 23rd Parker Rosenberger 27th Wyatt Mayfield 29th Kaden Childs and Wade Elms also contributed to the 3rd place overall win! There was 94 total boys running

Henrietta Bearcats! It has been another great week in HISD, and I want to share a few updates with you as we head into the weekend. Progress continues on our bond projects, some that are visible, and some that may have caught you off guard if you were at the football game last week! The new stadium lights we were able to install because of bond funds can be turned on and off very quickly, unlike the old stadium lights that would take a long time to come back on. So when we score a touchdown, the lights flash on and off, which made some people think we were having a lighting malfunction! Keep an eye out for that at the next home game on Sept 20 vs. Seymour! That is Pioneer Reunion Night, and we hope to see you there! You will also notice the track surface has been torn up in preparation for new asphalt, which we expect to be installed next week. This is going to be a great surface for our track athletes, and of course for our cheerleaders at football games. I am sure you will see me out there walking to get a few steps in, and I invite you to take advantage of the track as well once the surface is completed! We are grateful for the support of our community as these bond projects come to life. It is a great time to be a Bearcat! Jaime Clark

HJH and HHS (9th-11th only) will have fall portraits on Wednesday, Sept. 11. Your student should have received an order form in English class several days ago. All students will have their picture taken for the yearbook.
